We were very pleased to find that this is more winter hardy than our other non-crested forms of Woodwardia orientalis

Deparia acrostichoides Winter Delights Hellebores Jim Wilkins of Michigan(syn: Deparia acrostichoides) Athyrium thelypteroides is a Southeastern US native that makes a wonderfully easy to grow, deer resistant, 2' tall specimen with fronds that can reach 4' in length. When grown in moist conditions and rich soils, silver glade fern form a 3' wide clump in 5 years. The common name of silver glade fern comes from the color of the leaf underside, arising from the developing spores.
