This tartan was originally supplied by William Wilson and Sons of Bannockburn to a Mr Kidd who used it to clothe the slaves on his West Indian plantation
Ramsay was one of the names adopted by members of the Clan MacGregor when their own was proscribed
but there is no mention in Wilson's comprehensive pattern books of a MacKinlay tartan
