Germany, Heer. A Kuban Shield Auction Archive numbered “273229”(Heer Kubanschild). Constructed of bronze magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a stylized map of the Kuban region, topped by an inscription of KUBAN and a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by a date of 1943, affixed will all four attachment prongs to a magnetic metal backer with a field grey wool liner, unmarked, the shield measuring 52. 30 mm (w) x 61. 87 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
