This is an original 1894 halftone print showing the Foreign Buildings at the Chicago World's Fair, which include those of Norway, Sweden and Germany. The Norwegian building is modeled after the old "Stavkirke," which is a 12th century style of Scandinavian architecture. The roofs are almost entirely vertical and hold peaked gables, while it is thought that the devices that extend out must be the figure heads of the "Vikings" in
