Peintures grecques antiques, la collection hellénistique du musée du Louvre. Histoire d'une longueur de 11The Louvre houses a valuable collection of painted works, on marble or limestone, from the Hellenistic period. Coming from Alexandria, Cyrene, Thessaly, and Macedonia, they demonstrate a surprising unity of style. Some have been magnificently restored, and they inform us about the rules of composition as well as pigments and chromatic techniques. This unexpected and moving collection is expertly annotated in this book catalogue.
