A circular medal constructed of gilded metal alloy, the obverse bears the left facing portrait of Friedrich II, circumscribed with FRIEDRICH II GROSSHERZOG VON BADEN, the reverse is inscribed with FR VERDIENST (FOR MERIT) encompassed by an oak leaf wreath tied with a ribbon at the bottom, measuring 38. 87 mm (w) x 43. 43 mm (h), with suspension loop on a yellow and red ribbon, very fine.
