A dark green thick cord is attached to each side, looping to the base along the front. The interior bears a leather sweatband, marked 8th R. R 522, partial manufacturers sticker denoting [H]obson & Sons Army Contractor, with two small hooks on the interior for the chinstrap (chinstrap not included), a large red cockade at the front bears the metal insignia of the royal
