Germany, Luftwaffe. An M43 Field Cap for Enlisted Ranks United Republic of as he was appointed Assistant(Luftwaffe Einheitsfeldmtze M43 fr Mannschaften). A well preserved Luftwaffe M43 field cap for Enlisted ranks, constructed of dark blue grey wool. The cap is fully surrounded by fold down side panels, scalloped toward the front, which provide optional ear and neck protection to the wearer. When not in use, the panels roll up and are secured in place with a single pebbled zink button which emanates from the right panel and meets a reinforced buttonhole
