De 1943 1947, Eduardo Chillida tudie l'architecture Madrid. En 1947, il abandonne ses tudes et frquente l'Acadmie d'Art Madrid. Il dcide alors de se consacrer la sculpture et expose Paris ds le dbut des annes 1950 (premire exposition en 1949 au Salon de Mai), et s'installe au Pavillon Espagnol
